Discover your individual
path to healing.

I'm Amita Nathwani — a practitioner, author, and teacher of Ayurvedic medicine. My work bridges a 5,000-year-old science with modern integrative care, so that body, mind, and spirit can return to balance together.

The heart of the work

Knowing yourself is the key to healing.
Integrated medicine is the key to the future.

Ayurveda offers a holistic, lifestyle-centered approach to medicine — but its rules were never meant to be a single path for everyone. Discovering your own practice is a journey of self-knowledge, and along the way the path to healing reveals itself.

True well-being asks for more: joining modern Western medicine with the holistic science of Ayurveda. My goal is to build a bridge between these worlds — together, they are far more powerful than the sum of their parts.

Amita S. Nathwani, M.A. (Ayur)

Born into the traditions of Ayurveda and trained in both India and North America, I've practiced since 2000 — caring for patients while teaching the next generation of practitioners. My focus is digestive health and the psychology of healing: the deep connections between the gut, the emotions, and the way we live.

I serve as fellowship faculty at the Dr. Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, and I see patients privately in Tucson and Durango.

Ayurveda: Breaking the Rules
Without Breaking the Principles

A clinical approach to lifestyle medicine.

Before we start, ask yourself a question: why are you here? Your reasons for seeking out Ayurveda are as unique as you are. Yet too often we look for external solutions and forget to consider ourselves. This book is an invitation back to the source — because the key to healing comes from knowing ourselves.
